HOUSTON, Texas — (DMN) – The man who struck a worker with his car at an impound lot in northwest Houston Tuesday night has been identified as an employee of a top Harris County official. William Rodney Henderson, 61, is Harris County Judge Ed Emmett’s chief legal counsel. Henderson and a female companion were at City Centre for a night on the town Tuesday evening when he apparently parked in an illegal spot, according to Houston police. He walked to where his car was supposed to be parked at the end of the night, then discovered it had been towed.

Henderson and the woman caught a taxi cab to KTL Auto Storage Yard in the 1700 block of Brittmoore around 11 p.m., and witnesses said, he was quite angry when he arrived. Henderson allegedly hopped into his car without paying and tried to tail another person out of the gate when he hit the female employee. Police said the impact knocked the woman down.  HFD transported the injured woman to the hospital with a hyper-extended knee. Henderson was arrested at the scene. He was charged with misdemeanor deadly contact and his bond was set at $2,000.
